I know that this must be possable yet I keep arriving at a brick wall! I have created a graphic in Freehand that has type on a path in a circle around it. I tried dragging it into Fireworks but the type on the path didn't survive the journey across my screen very well so I converted the text to paths. Now it drags over quite nicely. I have it set for a transparent background, yet when I place it in my HTML page in Dreemweaver it ends up with a white square behind it.

You will have to export your image in transparent gif format. For that to work open your optimize panel, and select the gif format and remember to be carefull and set the alpha transparency option.

Screen Capture

Does anyone know how to screen capture Photoshop's menus, tools or pallets? (BTW, if you don't know what "screen capture" is it means to make a copy of something on the screen.)

On your keyboard should be a "Print Screen" Key... probably upper right hand corner, you can click Alt + Print Screen, and then paste it in your photoshop on a new document.

Trimming Posts

Trimming posts is thoughtful for all concerned. It's okay to leave significant content, but the extraneous and repetitious stuff is of no use to anyone. Clean posts are much more welcome by everyone.

I subscribe to multiple lists. I do not want 3000 Emails to sort through in my Inbox each day. Digest mode keeps my Inbox, or in my case, my "groups not read yet" box manageable.

Create Sparkle

I am tyring to create a sparkle on a diamond and would appreciate any ideas on creating a realistic and effective sparkle.

Try filter/render/lens flare - I have used this to good effect on jewelery.

Using the Lens Flare filter on jewelry can give it some real sparkle. I always create a new layer for the lens flare so I can move it and/or transform it to get the best effect.

CFFILE Upload Email Attachment

Quesiton: I'm trying to allow users to attach their resumes' to emails sent to my clients' home office. I'm using the following code if CFMX:

<cfmail type="html" to="" from="" subject="Resume from #form.fullname#" mimeattach="#form.resumeattach#">

--->body of email goes here

I've also tried using <cfmailparm file="#form.resumeattach#"> instead of the mimeattach attribute.

Both attemps fail, stating that the resource file specified in form.resumeattach cannot be found, although the full file name was populated via the calling form (<input name="resumeattach" type="file">). Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I'm tapped out!!

Answer: I think you actually have to do a CFFILE action="upload" and then use that file. Using the form field just gives you a temp file.

Podcasting Article Roundup

Don spotted an article in the radio section of the BBCs Radio Times relating to Podcasting with some stats and information about the BBCs current and future position.

There was no link so he scanned it and posted it to his blog.

I've added this link, so that maybe more of those interested in the article will be able to check it out.
